  • SING! - thank you.
  •  Date Posted: Thu, 29 Oct 2020
    Morning beautiful people,

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who submitted videos and pulled out all the stops to make our AAC vid happen.

Our remit was to make a video for LABBS (LBW)...and the wider public audience (nay the world...mwah ha ha!) via social media, post-LBW...that represented us/AAC and our musical effect, impact and connection...with not only each other...but also our extended ‘family’ and beyond!

As you can imagine it was a big mission to include & represent all the amazing footage that was sent in to Rob. There was obviously a huge amount of fabulous content that he was disappointingly unable to ‘fit in’.

However...I’m going to be getting my mitts on ALL the rushes and will be splicing together a 'just for us'/outtakes version...exclusively using all the awesome AAC footage.

    Wishing you a Happy Thursday.

    Hope you’re all good.

Thank you SO much to all those who’ve sent in their videos.
    Muchos appreciated.

To you gawjus peeps who haven’t....yet(!)....if it’s at all possible to find an hour (somewhere in the ether of time...ha!) to film something...anything....that would be really great.

It would be wonderful to have as many AAC peeps included and represented. (I know there’s an inner pop video diva in most of us out there!)

It’s going to be a fabulous endorsement of Boo’s arrangement premiere...and of our Golden contribution to the LABBS virtual Convention.

If it’s poss to do something by Saturday 19th (deadline) that would be ace....but by the end of the weekend would be totes fine too.

    Thanking you muchly,

    Flash. XXX

    Well helloooooo!
Hope all diddling well your ends!!!

    Just a quickie from me.

Over the summer a SING! Team have been beavering away on our virtual video creatives: a storyboard and shot list.

And we are now all set to start putting the visuals together.

    The basic premise….
A celebration of the empowering and positive effects of music and singing. (With a quirky/unique AAC twist.)

Rob (our producer) has been busy with BBC commitments and also working on BABSlive…but he’s now all ours (mwaa ha ha ha ha)…until our virtual video completion! (I’m not sure he knows what he’s let himself in for.)

I have a Zoom sesh with him tonight to finalise everything.

    But in a nutshell…
…it will involve (for those who want/can get involved)…some short and simple filming…on mobile phones…in pink AAC t-shirts…then email it over. Simples.

I’ll be in touch with all the super easy deets over the weekend.

    Until then....Happy Friday.

    Morning ladies,

For those asking, I'm still putting the slide with all the links on in the same place each week for anyone who wants to follow along (for better visuals) or catch up later, or watch the videos we didn't get to.

You can find the last four weeks' links at: (Ladies' choruses singing barbershop) (Ladies' choruses singing show songs) (Men's choruses singing barbershop) (Men's choruses singing non barbershop)

If you're going to look at one video we didn't get to last night, I'd watch the Westminster performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water (feat. The Crush). There are several videos of them singing it with different quartets (e.g. OC Times) but that one is my favourite!

  • Wedding gig 18 April CANCELLED
  •  Date Posted: Wed, 25 Mar 2020
    Dear All,
Just to let you know that since weddings are now not possible while we are in lockdown, Zenab ( who came to listen to our rehearsal recently with her future mother-in-law ) has had no choice but to cancel her wedding scheduled for 18 April at Chenies. Naturally she's heartbroken* but definitely wants us to be there whenever they can arrange a new date and sends us all her best wishes. So everybody who offered their availability on the day can now "stand down".

*same as my own daughter Sarah whose wedding was to have been in May.

  •  Date Posted: Thu, 5 Sep 2019

    Here’s the vid from Tuesday.

It’s in good shape...but still lots to do!

The 1st half is looking good...a few bits to iron out...and placements to correct (cue: mirror rehearsal) essence....a thumbs up!

The 2nd half needs some attention.

If you can be as au fait with everything...but esp the second half...for Sunday...that would be great.

(Don’t worry about the very last couple of bars of the song...for now.)

The mirror rehearsal (and extra Tues sesh) will make a big difference....and be a significant turning point in our progress.

Then we can start to up-the-ante and add an injection of va va vroom too!!!

(The ‘eye sheet’ is in the pending tray...nearly done.)

    See you Sunday. XXX

  •  Date Posted: Sun, 9 Jun 2019

    Reposted notice from 9 June

LABBS Convention Fri 25th - Sun 27th October, Venue Cymru, Llandudno

It’s time to think about Convention in October and your registration and hotel requirements.

.....please read carefully and reply promptly - don't be the one we have to chase!

    • We are processing the registrations in the first week of July to get the standard (lower) price for your All Events Pass.
    • All Events Pass includes all show tickets, you do not have to buy them separately.
    • It is assumed all members are going to Convention and will compete.

Please let Sausage and Marion know by Friday 21st June,

    1. If you have already purchased an Early Bird Registration
    2. If you require any registrations or show tickets for friends and family. (costs attached)
    3. If you are NOT able to compete at Convention (you will also need to speak to Helen!)
    4. If you haven't replied by 21st June, they will assume none of the above apply and purchase the All Events Pass for you.

    • We have booked rooms in the Somerset Hotel at a package price for 3 nights....Thur 24th - Sat 26th incl.
    • There is no discount for a 2 night stay and no possibility to extend your stay here.
    • Single supplement is an additional £10 for the 3 day package.
    • When making travel arrangements, please be aware that your first call will be a rehearsal at 4pm on Friday 25th - not at the hotel, so you'll need to allow 15 mins to walk there.

Please let KIrsty know asap ..

    1. Your room requirement - twin/double or single
    2. Your roomie (including any guests who are not chorus members)
    3. Any dietary (breakfast only) or access requirements for you and/or your guests that we should pass to the hotel.
    4. We DON'T need to know the number of nights.

    • The all-in cost to you, for a twin/double room plus All Events Pass, will be £210 less the £30 deposit you've paid, so £180 owing. (Chorus will subsidise the balance.)
    • If you know this is all you require, then you can pay some or all of this now - for any additional requirements, we will confirm the cost when you've replied.
    • Please reference any payments as CONVENTION
    • If you have a savings pot, we will automatically take that in payment and advise you of any balance outstanding - speak to Sue or me for your balance if you need it.
    • If you want to discuss timing of payments or apply for the Support Fund, please contact Sue.,

    Any questions, please ask,

    Many thanks,

    The Convention Team

  • Welcome to the AAC members site
  •  Date Posted: Sat, 8 Jun 2019
Welcome to the AAC members site

This site is private and visible only to members of AAC.  Newbies who are going through the audition process will have limited access to the site so they can access song files.

This site will allow you to find everything related to chorus in one place including:
    • Notices: They will still be emailed to you but you will find the latest notices right here on this page;
    • Attendance: You can let us know whether you are attending upcoming rehearsals and events.  In fact, please click on Attendance below and do that now, especially with summer fast approaching;
    • Songs:  You will find the sheet music, teach tracks and rehearsal notes for each song.  Click on Song Library below.  We've started by adding the current songs, but soon the whole repertoire will be available;
    • Rehearsal recordings: Click on Rehearsal Recordings;
    • Stack:  You can check on the stack for events and songs. Click on Riser Stacks;
    • Other features coming soon:  Of course we're only just learning how to use the site, so we're starting small and we'll add more and more over the coming weeks and month.
    What to do now?
    • Please add your picture (it needs to be a close up). Your picture will appear in the stack, so is very handy.  It'll also help us to know who's who, as we are such a large chorus now.
      • How? Hover over your name and click on update my club details/photo.
    • Add your planned attendance and planned absences.  This will help Helen and the rehearsal management team to plan for a Tuesday evening.
      • How? Click on Attendance.  The rest is straightforward.
    • Have a play and familiarise yourself with where everything is.
    Need help?
We have a great group of girls who have been familiarising themselves with the site and giving feedback, so they should be able to help you out with any queries.  They are:

Caroline D, Caroline M, Dee, Hils, Hilary, Jane P, Jus, Kerry, Rosy D, Sarah, Sausage, Stephanie, Sue L.

If they can't help, ask Dionne or Les.
